From keeping our trucks safe to preventing costly breakdowns, fleet technicians are the unsung heroes behind every smooth delivery. That’s why June 14-20 marks a special time: National Technician Appreciation Week (NTAW) - a moment to recognize, celebrate, and uplift the professionals who power our industry from the shop floor.
Launched by the American Trucking Associations (ATA) and the Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC), NTAW highlights the critical role technicians play across the transportation industry. It’s also an opportunity to support the next generation of maintenance professionals entering the trade.
Host a Lunch or Appreciation Event
A simple meal and a sincere thank-you can go a long way in recognizing the work technicians do every day.
Share Their Stories
Share stories, photos, or technician achievements on social media or in company communications.
Recognize and Reward
Gift cards, extra PTO, shop awards, or team recognition programs help show appreciation for the people keeping your fleet moving.
Support the Next Generation
Partner with local trade schools, diesel programs, or community organizations to help promote careers in fleet maintenance.
Technicians do far more than repair vehicles.
They troubleshoot problems under pressure, help prevent breakdowns before they happen, and keep drivers safe on the road. Every completed PM, inspection, and repair helps reduce downtime and keeps operations running smoothly.
And as fleets continue facing technician shortages, retaining skilled maintenance professionals has never been more important.
The best shops are not just investing in equipment, they’re investing in the people doing the work.
At Squarerigger, we’re proud to support technicians with tools designed to reduce unnecessary admin and make maintenance workflows easier to manage. From faster work order updates to simplified VMRS coding and real-time visibility into repairs, our goal is simple: help technicians spend more time turning wrenches and less time chasing paperwork.
To every technician out there: thank you.
We see the work you do, and we appreciate the role you play in keeping fleets moving.
National Technician Appreciation Week is important, but real appreciation happens in the day-to-day experience technicians have at work.
That means giving them clear communication, better tools, organized workflows, and systems that help them do their jobs without unnecessary frustration.
It means respecting their time, listening to their feedback, and reducing the admin, delays, and workarounds that slow them down.
The best shops understand that supporting technicians year-round is not just good culture, it’s good business. When technicians have the tools, visibility, and support they need, the entire operation runs better.
